Trust administration and probate help
When someone dies, the paperwork lands on one person. Simani Law guides successor trustees and personal representatives in Florida and New York through every step: understanding the documents, notifying beneficiaries and creditors, marshalling assets, handling tax filings, keeping the records beneficiaries are entitled to, and making distributions that close the matter cleanly.
How we work with trustees and personal representatives
- A first meeting to read the trust or will together and map every asset to its route (trust, probate, beneficiary designation, joint).
- A written timeline with each deadline: will deposit, notice of trust, creditor notices, inventory, tax returns, accountings.
- Preparation of court filings for Florida summary or formal administration, or New York probate, administration, or small-estate proceedings.
- Coordination with your CPA on the final income tax return, the trust or estate income tax return, and any estate tax return.
- A final accounting and receipts so the trustee is released and the matter is closed.
